As a stalker with less experience than yourself could you please explain what the twig in the mouth and the one on the back is all about - I guess it's some sort of mark of respect for your quarry. Yes it is mark of respect. Last bite tradition, quite popular in continental Europe. It is more popular on a driven hunt and the purpose is also to show you were successful on a given drive - branch in your hat. One twig is the last bite for the quarry, one goes on the side with the broken part pointing either to head or tail indicating sex (less obvious in case of wild boar than deer...) and one slightly dipped in blood to hunter's hat.
