shoot and be safe
There is a steel shim inside where the stud/bolt goes through (it acts to prevent damage of the hole by "egging"). Knock them out and you will get a better price, a good smack with a lump hammer onto a drifter should do the job. You will get clean aloy price then. out of touch with prices for scrap at the moment, but last time we weighed any in at work we were getting around £800/T for clean and I think £400/T mixed aloy. If they are any good, stick them on the ebay.
lksopener
They aren't great and eBay prices are cack. I've called the local recycling place and they have offered 96p/kg so that will do I was only after about £30 but at that price ill get a bit more so that's a result! 88b
Don't forget to take photo ID and they don't pay cash any more it's a cheque of bank transfer , unless your of no fixed abode and living in a stolen caravan.
Twistedsanity
They get round the cheque or bank transfer by loading a prepaid credit card for people round here now, it avoids the need for bank accounts and traceability for all the dodgy scrap collectors and thieves whilst nicely keeping up with the new laws on not paying cash out , I'm not sure of the exact details but my friend is a recovery driver and ofthen scraps cars and mentioned it to me the other day
