Country Boy
Whilst out driving I have noticed a few stoggies (that's woodpigeons to the uninitiated) showing some interest in the rape fields this last few days. Might be worth an afternoons serious spotting if it dries up a bit! Cheers, C.B. :~}
big simmo999
me and my mate have driven around the yorkshire areas 3 or 4 times now - we've seen birds - but not feeding on rape and no definate flight lines. this cold snap should help
Heppy1148
I agree Simmo, i am in Scunny and around here the fog is unreal and can't really recce a lot but the birds i have seen were in amongst trees and not following fields. Like you say i hope this cols snap gets them on the ground and following the rape. Time will tell.....Do you have fog up with you too? Good luck anyway and all the best. Country Boy
For those of you who crave to know, the 'stoggies' are now seriously on some areas of rape I can testify to that, in the week I did quite well near to Malton Happy New Year to All. Cheers, C.B. :~}

Heppy1148
I have noticed in my area that birds are only following rape in the mornings until about 1000hrs, i dont know why this is, possibly due to it still being mild.

Danger Mouse
Been watching Pigeons hammering several Rape fields lately, but, 1 shot and they're off not to return, trust me I have been very frustrated! Watched them find another field where I can't shoot and they stay there for the rest of the day! I am having another look tomorow so hopefully will get some action! Problem is, where I intend to go there are about 6 fields (4 very large) with Rape so they might flock off again! Only seen 1 good flight line, asked the farmer and he said "I will ring my shooter to come and sort them" He still hasn't been! Might try him again!
