These? http://victorycartridges.com/main/images/stories/cartridges_boxes/mini%20magnum%2040g.png

They're brilliant for geese...if you're in a place where you don't have to use non toxic

In shot size 3, these are without a doubt the fastest and hardest hitting lead cartridge of all time, bar none, end of.

Hello rossem the carts in the links look good, but the ones I'm on about are GB Mini Magnums 42 grams (1 1/2 oz) num 4 shot which are a 2 3/4 inch case.

Thanks for the reply anyway they will be taken on board for the geese!

All the best Strangford wildfowler

Just wondering if anyone has tried these as I am new to wildfowling, and pigeon watch. These carts are only £3.50 per 10 so thought i'd give em whirl, and what are the best wildfowling carts around?

All verdicts welcome.

Are they lead or steel? They sound very interesting if they are non-toxic!!

I've given up on ever getting Eley lightning steel, so I'm looking for another good steel load.

Do Hollow Farm sell them? I know they bring in a lot of GB.

If they are 42gram in a 2 3/4 case as he says then they are lead loads.

True.Thanks Big Mat.

If that's the case they'd only be suitable for shooting over fields. (The Scottish non-toxic system applies in N. Ireland)

Non-toxic only on Strangford Lough. I suppose it depends where you are planning to use them.

Hello big al I'm not sure if they are steel or lead cause the writing is in french.

I would advise you strongly to find out before using them over wetlands. It is illegal to use lead over wetlands here, regardless of quarry species. Strangford is most definitely a wetland, and a heavily monitored and regulated one at that.

Again, it just depends where you plan to use them.

I think GB are Spanish btw.

If you are looking for good 2 3/4" steel load, I'd recommend the Bornaghi 36g steel. Very punchy!

Totally Agree! Mini magnums are by far the best goose load iv used! I profer shot size 1 over 3's. all my goose shooting is pass shooting inland so im always using lead.

Yes there in boxes of 25. I got 250 from my gun shop for aboot £80 last season. I shoot around the loch of strathbeg which is owned by the RSPB which means no shooting there. Every year there is about 20 thousand geese estimated to be on the loch. All my shooting is done on the stubble and grass fields shooting the geese flighting off in the morning for returning at night. I dont use decoys i just shoot the flighting in and out.

Some photos from last season.
