swampy
hi guys hope u can help me I have a Suzuki vitara van 2002 1.9td the rear fog lights are not working the light on the switch is on but no power going to the rear fog lights I've checked the fuses under the dash and they all seem to be ok so I haven't got a clue what's wrong with it hoping some one on here might now thanks JEFF
Lord Geordie
Test meter will tell you. It may just be a faulty switch. Just because the light in the swith is on, it does not mean the power output is there. Also just check your bulbs and fittings. Some times corroded or oxidised holders can be an issue. FarmerSim
Mrs Sim had a vitara a while ago, - when the fog lights on that packed up, it was corrosion in the lights themselves, caused by the seals failing, letting water in, and ..... The lights were a real mess inside, and to get it through the MOT, I cleaned all the contacts, and there was just about enough "good" metal left to make them work.... I then ordered new ones, with new seals.... not the best design IMHO, but hey ho A meter will tell you where the circuit is broken, but, IME, as above, check carefully for corrosion.. al4x
Have you got a tow bar fitted? If so you may find its a switch in the electrics at fault, its there to turn the vehicle fog light off if a trailer is fitted. Took me forever to work it out on my l200
