Fisherman Mike
Well IMO it's come from one stillwater or another following a flood. Condition means nothing. Most certainly a Symonds stockie (simmo = Dinkelsbuehl (originally a German strain heavily stocked throughout the UK due to their very quick growth rates). Nope sorry not having it...I caught it and my 51 years angling experience on this stretch tells me its a wild fish. Definitely not a still water fish....it put up a scrap...its mouth wasn't ripped to shreds and it had fins.....plus it didn't have a name... Cranfield
All the truly wild carp that I have seen were lean dark fish, that pudding is definitely a still water escapee, or tipped out of someone's garden pond. There are carp in just about every river in the country, even the Test. The River Medway has a good stock of fish right down to the tidal reaches at Wouldham. Penelope
Despite a differing opinion, it's still a nice fish to catch on chub gear. How have the otters impacted up there?
