pstenson123
Hi guys, just doing a bit of research into getting a archer for my 223 ! Can anyone tell me what sort of range they are good for. I use a ns200 on my hmr but want some thing that doesn't glare back & light your face up when foxing. Thanks in advance. Dougy
Depending on light source 150yds is easy.. I was out last night with mine, the first time out with it since receiving it last Wednesday. My setup is on a 22.250 leupold vxlll 4.5-14×50 NM 800 in. Archer is used as a spotter with the firefly as the light source for this purpose only as i have found it does spook them. (my permissions are mostly second hand if you know what I mean) Once spotted the archer,s put back on the scope for the final deed using the nm800 and called into range, They will come in to silly range as long as your quiet and they don't wind you. Brilliant bit of kit. 3 on my first night out with it says enough.
bullet boy
Hi mate, I've had my Archer now a year and I wouldn't be without it! Its a serious bit of kit given a serious price tag but if you want the best then you have to pay top money for the best quality items! I like Dougy above use my Archer with my .22-250 calibre in a Tikka T3 rifle topped with a S&B 3-12x50 Klassik non parallax adjustable scope but it works fine!Do not think for one moment you need an expensive scope for use with the Archer as in some cases the cheaper quality optic you use the better the image with the Archer. The longest Fox I shot with my Archer was 180 yards but when Archer is on the rifle you can spot a Fox beyond 200 yards. Nothing wrong with the NS200 you got but as I said you get for what you pay for and the Archer is in another league IMO!!

Peskyfoxs
As above I can spot out to 200yrds no problem,I don't tend to shoot much over 150. I have cheap scopes and use the firefly but still no problem at all

eccles
Its a good bit of kit bud. set them up right and you can see a heck of a way. Take your time setting them up have a good play with it ,you got to get the bayonet fitting in the right spot to get the best out of them. When you set them up don't tighten the bayonet fitting straight away move it back and forth till you get best pic then tighten up. atb Terry

chipper
With so many positive comments on the Archer NV's performance, really tempted to buy one. does this piece of kit need servicing annually ? (as stated on Starlights website, gas purgeing?.?)...if so how much? Cheers Pete
