I shoot a local farm with three ponds on it and have seen the odd duck about

From time to time so with the new wild fowling season in , I thought why not,

So last week I chucked a bag of barley around one of the ponds, so I finished work

Early to day and headed off to have a look around had the odd shot here and there

At the odd rabbit , then about 7 headed to have a look at the pond I fed, to my shock

There was about 15/20 ducks, so I loaded the heavy"s only had 4, and proceeded

Bang bang dropped one! Waited about 10/15min and 6 more came back and dropped a pair

Happy days

Just wondering how I can attract more ?

And how often to shoot it ?

Thanks in advance rb

Excellent shooting.

It's great when a plan comes together. I am no expert but from what I have read keep feeding it, shoot it every other week at most and always leave the last flight to come in. Don't shoot over the pond but shoot the flight line a distance away from it. This way the pond still seems a safe place for them to feed.

As above keep feeding, a little and often. Don't shoot it more than once a fortnight. Remember any cover around the pond will die back when the hard weather comes in, you may want to think about building a butt. Old pallets will do and the ducks will become used to it.
