Lord Geordie
Worn firing pin? Not coming into contact fully with a recessed primer??? The firing pin return spring MAY be to strong and reduce the force of the strike Top lever nipping the pin (assuming it's not a Baikal) LG
roughshooter
The Pedrettii hushpower is cocked by the top lever and if you do not push it far enough it won't have enough oomph to fire the cartridge. This is the same on investarm guns - make sure you push the top lever right the way across and see if it works then regards Graham
remmy1100
hi lg its brand new from bagnalls and its a baikal ,when it misfires theres a tiny mark on cap when it fires the mark is ok .thought it might be tight tolerances internally
Finnclassic
You said it all when you said brand new. Take the barrel off, hold the stock up/action down and spray the firing pin cavity out with WD40 using the little red pipe that comes with the tin. If you have an airline that may work. There is probably some manufacturing crud stuck in there. If that doesnt work take the stock off and spray it out from the inside remembering afterwards to re oil it with high quality machine oil. Of course you could always take it back under warranty and get them to do it. I think that should do it unless there is a real manufacturing defect which would be unusual with one of these.
