Bird Man
I have been shooting my 12g Beretta for many years and would like to start using my 20g a bit more. I have decided to take the 20g for a walked up day on grouse, on the Yorkshire moors and would like some advise. What would be your preferred choice? Also if I do take the 20 bore is the ammo I have, ok for the job. 28gm 6s.
Cranfield
Assuming the 20bore is lighter, it will be much more pleasant to carry on a walked up day over rough ground and 28gm 6s are more than adequate for walked up grouse. You might want to check with the Shoot Organiser/Gamekeeper whether they have a felt wad only rule. I have been a few times for grouse and snipe and it was felt wads only. Early on they tend to sit a bit tighter, hence ranges are shorter as the place gets shot / disturbed more they won't sit so tight.

Thanks for the tip I think I will take the 20bore and I have just got myself some felt wad cartridges. It turns out that it was a requirement of the shoot anyway. Can't wait now !!!!!
