timber
Posted 18 June 2009 - 10:13 AM I wanted mine cut to 16" I did lot of searching about, eventually I spoke to a very well respected riflesmith. He advised me to go for 14" which is what he did for me, and all though I never chrono'd it before or after there has been zero loss of accuracy and the rifle is far more car friendly as a result Hi I did a search on the web and this is what I found so job sorted. Surprise it was posted by none other than Dunkield
welshwarrior
My BRNO mod 2 has been cut to 14" as well and is still round on round at 30 yards and more user friendly. I've had a 10/22 cut to 12.5" that too was still accurate.
foxbasher
im sure i read an article somwhere on this and they said that using .22 subs all of the powder burnt in the first 14" of the barrel so i would say thats about the limit. if your using a lot of high velosity or stinger ammo id stick to at least 16" or 18".
