Gamefarm
Ok Guys, Picked up a box of 55g Nosler BT at the Midland to try in the .243 and see how it compares with my usual foxing weapon ( .222.) I have on my shelf the choice of 3 Alliant powders - Reloader 7, 19 or 22. Nosler, of course, show Reloader 15 in their tables! RL 22 is going to be way too slow, but anyone tried 7 or 19 with this tip? Don't really want to buy a can of 15 just to try out! Cheers for any info. jimsim81
Hi bud iv got to say I use reloader 15 with 80 grain nosler, and it s a cracking combination in my .243 very accurate so I imagine the 15 would also be good for the 55 grain tip all the best jim
njc110381
I can't find anything in any of my data lists. Looks like you're going to have to get your money out!
njc110381
Just found RL7, 30.2gr max load with a 60gr bullet. Work up to that and look for pressure. If you know what you're doing you may be able to exceed max listed by a bit as it's a lighter bullet, but be careful and don't risk it if you're not sure. Start load is listed as 29gr, so it's far from an ideal powder with that narrow a weight range.
henry931
Had a look at Quickload and personally I'd be getting some reloader 15. Other (stick) powders that could work: H4895, Varget, IMR 3031, 4064, 4320, 4895, VV N135, N140, N540 maybe N550

stalker58
been using 55 grain nosler for a long time in the 243...48 grains H414...never had a fox complain, its almost a compressed load..so you will have to seat the bullets out a bit longer,,,won't be a problem because they are very short bullets....try this lhttp://www.nosler.com/243-winchester http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp....You won't notice its a slower powder!...If they list it you can use it.
