simonix
Ive seen this company advertised on this forum (top right of the page normally). I just wondered if any PW members have joined up with them as an alternative to basc or sacs for their shooing insurance? And if they have a good reviews for their service or not? Muddy Funker
Yes, If you're after insurance only without the support of any organisation then it's excellent. I'm on a budget so this is ideal for me at the moment, customer support is first class.

David BASC
The legal cover only applies to you taking a personal accident claim - not appeals against refusal to grant, vary renew or to appeal against a refusal to change an condition, read the policy! But yes if you want insurance only I don't think there is a cheaper option...
simonix
David, could you tell me what the extra cost of legal cover would be on top of the standard BASC membership/insurance? I know that the organisation does a lot more than just insurance, I'd just like to get things sorted in my budget. This will be the first insurance I've had. Many thanks in advanmce. David BASC
Hi, this is being looked at by the Elected Council at the moment, my hope is that we will get £100k of legal expenses cover added to all memberships very early in 2014. The cost will be a few quid, I would think David
deershooter
Legal cover is normally part of your house insurance covering all sporting activities other than motor sport ,your car insurance offer this at about £20-£30 however it costs the broker approx £2 they just make money out of you . David BASC
Its unlikely that your home insurance would cover an appeal against revocation, or refusal to grant, or refusal to vary though. Its designed to cover legal issues concerning your home such as neighbour disputers and in some cases work too. Some may cover liability risks for shooting but by no means all. If in doubt email your insurer to ask. David
simonix
That's good news to hear about the proposed changes within the basic membership in 2014. In the meantime though, how much is it extra on top of membership currently? I don't really want to wait until sometime in 2014 to get cover.... David BASC
We don't offer it as a separate policy just now. However in the interim BASC are in a position to self insure legal costs for licencing issues. David
