I have a ATEC on mine, really light and fantastic for foxing/ vermin...might be a bit cheaper than the £279 can't remember how much it cost me...£90 for a screw cut does seem a tad expensive mine was £50..

Who done yours rich. I am a bit stuck as can only go to RFD on a Saturday. Brock and Norris said if I get to him for 8.00am on a Saturday he will do while I wait. I wanted a ATEC but the bloke I know can only do it in the week.

My hearing is damaged and so I was seeking maximum noise reduction for my .243. aimZonic seemed to offer one of if not the greatest noise reduction on the market and so liking the look and reviews, I opted for the Cyclone Compact (accepting 1db less reduction than the Cyclone Plus in return for a slightly smaller/lighter mod):

If sharing links from other forums is acceptable (my apologies moderators if this is not acceptable), the discussion thread can be found at; http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php/70647-Benefit-(or-otherwise)-of-Large-Moderators?highlight=moderator

Oh and my local RFD Dauntsey guns obtained from Alan Rhone 'overnight'.

I wanted to 'hear less' Dekers, that's why I bought one

But seriously, I have nothing to compare against. I went purely on the db rating which (per the thread on 'the other side'), I understand is not consistently measured by all manufacturers. All I can say is that my tinnitus is less affected by the (albeit louder) 'boom' of the .243 compared with the (quieter) 'crack' of the HMR (my tinnitus goes haywire after even as few as 20 odd rounds with the HMR).
