AULD YIN
Okay apologies if this has been posted before or its in the wrong place. got a couple of teage extended mobil chokes =no tool ,was always checking it was tight when i was on the field , saw the price of tool and was not impressed with the internal taper plus the price,so i thought of using the strap wrench so bought one at a discount store similar to the one on fleabay (Toolzone AU276 Multi-purpose Strap Wrench) .works a treat very happy that i can pinch them up and get them back off without marking the chokes internally or externally. johnnie

AULD YIN
Was not my intention to to put deerstalker down,he did not know my circumstances and unfortunately i did not add that info on my initial post ,it apears to work for him but to be honest even if i had a good grip i would still want to nip them up,better safe than sorry as i have heard it all before from people who cannot understand if something goes wrong after doing it the same way for years, only needs to happen once. johnnie
deershooter
The Teague tapered choke key is not for extended chokes it's for flush fitting ones .Teauge go to the expense of knurling the outside of the choke to enable them to be changed easley. I now understand that the op has difficulty with grip ,choke keys are made with small handles for one purpose only ,that is so you do not over tighten the choke tube by using something with a 6inch handle you are more likely to cause damage to the chokes or barrels Deershooter

AULD YIN
Just as a matter of interest the above is from teagues own site ,looks like extended chokes supplied with a key from teagues?? or am i wrong again. johnnie
figgy
They supply a key in case you haven't cleaned them regular and get them a bit stuck. By using the friction taper key you don't damage the chokes or squash them out of round like would be likely with grips. Have seen after a good weekends competition shooting, the key being tapped in with a hammer as the chokes wouldn't budge. Took some getting out. station
I think if you read the instructions then the answer is clear - From inside the lid of my Teague Extended Choke box. 2. At all times ensure choke tubes are fully seated. Tighten with Teague Taper Key. ATB.
