njc110381
They don't really need much cleaning. When you do though, try plugging one end with a piece of plastic and filling it with diesel. Leave it over night and flush out
rtaylor
Not sure if the T12 is strippable? To clean my stainless steel wildcat I take it apart and soak it in kettle limescale remover for about 10mins, this really loosens the crud up. I have pressure washed the gut of it in the past and it comes up really clean/shiny. Just don't pressure washer the outer tube as it may damage the finish. kent
I use a T12 on the Hornet, I just give it a blast of Leige spray inside before putting it away (in a separate safe to the guns). It has worked well on my old t8 which might well be one of the oldest around still living. The T12 is of course stainless and should reach a very good age treated as above and used on a hornet

malkiserow
I've heard of people using CokeCola to decarbon. I use WD40 to kill any nasties that eat my aluminium mod.

Kent - how old is your mod or what life i can expect it to last.( i hope to use it in future on .243 or .270. or somethink simmilar for deer and long range fox)

Coke will strip many pain finishes beware. Now my T8 in steel seam welded is one of the first and has seen thousands of rounds from Deer rifles, it bleeds rust colour now (from the baffles I think) but no holes to date
fieldwanderer
Has anyone actually tried CokeCola that can update us? I stripped a mod and put all parts in an empty margarine tub full of cola and left it for 24hrs - waste of time to be honest, I only used the cheapest cola I could find but I'm sure there's better ways

fieldwanderer
Must admit, I've been considering getting an ultrasonic cleaner for quite a while now. They as good as they sound?

Yes they are good but. like everything you get what you pay for. best is SS tank with heater. medical or industrial grade but you can use it for brass cleaning/ bolt / sound mod/ carburetors/ injectors etc. etc.
Amazed
I wonder if the baffles could go in a tumbler ? Would it work ?
alendil
I wonder if the baffles could go in a tumbler ? Would it work ? i did that with my p&h from .22 lr but powder deposit was to hard and it didn't remove all of it. and on top of it cleaning ss shot in tumbler was nightmare.
