evo
hi all, did a few tests today using the above pellets, first thing I have definitely noticed is the rws seem very shiny compared to the exacts,, I tested them both on targets at 30yrds and could not separate them with regards accuracy but I would say the exacts just had the edge but not by much, but when I put them over the chrono that's where I seen a difference, the jsb exacts where running at 11.6ftlb to 11.8ftlb and they are 5.52mm, now when I put the superfields in I noticed a drop in power they where showing 10.44ftlb to 10.7ftlb, when I measured them they where also 5.52mm, what was causing the drop in power I still cant work it out and what makes things even more strange is the superfields are heavier not much mind 0.01gr have the rws got less lead in them and this is why they performed how they did not seen this before and hope I havn,t got a duff batch but to drop that much in power was a shock to say the least, anyone else found this happen cheers Evo
demonwolf444
No idea, I have also noticed this in pellet tests. I found at 50 yards the RWS was hitting a full mildot lower than the JSB's.
karpman
Can't rember the word for it but the jsb's cut through the air better and are quite well known for being a fast pellet. Karpman
Clubshot
Have you Tried Defiant 14.00's in 5.52 - Domed Head - Bullet design fly's Flatter and Faster Than Wasted Pellets - But still Hits home Hard - BOB/R
demonwolf444
JSB's have a better ballistic coefficient according to chairgun.
FalconFN
There could be a few different variables between pellets but head/skirt diameter and skirt thickness would be my guess. A heavier pellet may have a thicker skirt that is less likely to expand to fit the barrel, a pellet that's too big will have too much friction and one too small will not offer enough resistance. I've always liked JSBs myself but that is only because the work the best for me.
evo
thanks for the replies lads, I think I,ll give them another test 2moro at 40yrds and 50yrds as well, it just seemed strange how the chrono was reading lower with the superfields cheers Bob
