Suffolk shooter
Hence the need for education and licensing of Air rifles guys, so ***** like these can't have them in their possession. Sounds too far, but works in Holland/France/Germany, even under licensing in this country, they'll be some criminal element that would get their hands on something and cause trouble. Look at the Brocock situation. SS
Highlander
Seems to me this incident and the pit bull one are somewhat similar…lethal weapons (or at least very dangerous ones) being owned and operated by total planks WITHOUT a b***** licence. When will the powers that be realise that tightening the laws around these things still doesn’t stop the mindless, worthless, space wasting elements in society accessing them! All it really does is make life more difficult for the moral majority! Unfortunately even when they’ve totally banned every damn thing there’ll still be incidents like these and the rest of us will just have to take up golf or sit around watching football (both of which I for one hate)
Guest jonrms
Sadly this is all over our news.. and its in my home town... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,29389-2522024.html I know one person who they locked up.. and another person is out on bail at this point in time for this.... they are not friends.... FAR FROM IT!!!!! they are local yobs .... I feel for the loss of the family... no doubt that one of my shooting areas... (where this happened near) will be watched very closely..... I dont feel it will be appropiate to go shooting on the farm..... maybe 300-500 yards away from where this happened....
DirtyDeeds
Unfortunately, as has been said, tightening the laws just restricts the law abiding citizens. Banning handguns hasn't stopped street shooting crime. If anything, I feel it has increased - certainly where my mum used to live it's becoming more rife. The thing that really gets me is our criminal justice system. Drivers that kill someone will get 3 months jail sentence for driving over the drink limit, etc. Rapists are let out on good behaviour early only to do the same again. I appreciate that our jails are full. But it just makes my p**s boil that my hard earned taxes are paying for this element to collect ASBO's, and short jail sentences, like trophies. And then be let out to do it all again. I apologise. Maybe I'm a bit extreme. But I wouldn't spare rapists or murderes (in any form ie. drunk drivers). That would leave our jails free for the other elements to serve 'real' sentences. I could go on, but must stop the rant here. I sometimes just regret bringing children into this world where there seems to be more and more legislation, and less and less officers to enforce it: where the honest person is taxed beyond belief, but those who shy away from 'societies etiquette' just invoke more trouble which we have to pay for. At the end of the day, most people know what's right or wrong and regardless of age, sex, creed, etc. should pay the price.
