Jay
Hi, I find my air arms s510 .22 a little noisy even when fitted with the aa silencer, can any one suggest how to reduce the noise.
-Mongrel-
Buy a Weirauch silencer. Seriously. I tried the AA silencer and took it back to swap for a far superior Weirauch silencer on my 510.
chrisjpainter
Buy a Weirauch silencer. Seriously. I tried the AA silencer and took it back to swap for a far superior Weirauch silencer on my 510. True story. That AA silencer is OKAY, but it's nothing compared to the HW. you can usually pick em up s/h for £30-40, then just buy male-male adapter and you're sorted. http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/silencer-adaptors/gtsa12-guntuff-12-unf-male-to-male-silencer-adaptor-s510--tx200hc--falcon.html Edited November 13, 2013 by chrisjpainter
Jay
hi, Thanks for the info, I phoned my local dealer and he has weihrauck silencers in stock (£49), I will take my rifle in this weekend and try one. Out of curiosity I fired both my s410 and s510 side by side and was suprised the 510 was the quietest of the two. jay.

Takes a bit of the kick off, but it's still not good enough to shoot without a silencer. It's designed with a half eye on the american market, the laws on silencers on air guns is a bit more restrictive than here
Jay
Well I took my rifle into bradford stalker firearms and was given first class service, after comparing different silencers the guy there convinced me that my gun was as quiet as any other gun, even though it cost him the sale of a silencer. Its a pleasure to deal with a very friendly helpful bunch of lads both on pw and in bradford stalker. jay.
-Mongrel-
Did you put a Weirauch on it?
Jay
Did you put a Weirauch on it? yes and it was a little quieter but not enough to justify spending £50,when this guy was firing my setup I walked away about 5 yards and it was really quiet. As I said earlier this guy talked me out of buying a new silencer. Would u be interested in a yaesu ft-2000 amateur radio for a deal as I'm interested in it thanks
Therealchucknorris
Would u be interested in a yaesu ft-2000 amateur radio for a deal as I'm interested in it thanks As you've already started a thread on this you don't need to cross post in the other threads too. It's a bit of a leap to randomly throw in a request to swap a radio for a gun that a chap hasn't even indicated he wants to sell and it looks to me as though it's bordering on spamming the board I think you'd stand a better chance if you posted (or the mods moved the swap thread) into the wanted section of the sales forum. No harm meant by this post, just think you'd stand a better chance if targeted in the right way.
splitcane
The other mod worth looking at is the Huggett. They're superb - very quiet, beautifully made. They look nice, too. Not cheap, (£90 ish now) but well worth the money. Works very well with the 510s shroud.
