Westley
Just a bit of a "heads up" Guys, Aldi are selling 5w Cree torches tomorrow for £11-99p. I use one of these on my air rifles and it works quite well. Admittedly, I only use it inside barns etc. but it would work out to normal air rifle ranges outside and at £12 seems a bit of a bargain. David M
Hi mate, I just use a cheap single AA cell cree torch and super quality (for the price) mount from Hong Kong (just peaks over my 50mm objective though). I knocked up some filters from photo card and coloured plastic sheet from a craft shop but a red sweet wrapper banded on the end would suffice. I went the whole hog and mod'ed the torch and fitted my own remote switch, but it's ok using the torch's own end cap switch. I used it with just standard 1.5v Duracell AA's for a few months and had good results, the focusable beam very adequate at airgun ranges. To use it as a spotter lamp though, I treated it to some 3.7v protected Lithium Ion AA cells (1 in the torch and 1 in my pocket) and the beam is impressive to say the least for something so tiny..! http://www.amazon.co.uk/CREE-400-LUMEN-FLASHLIGHT-TORCH/dp/B006ZGEMFM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384883660&sr=8-1&keywords=g3+cree+q5+400+lumen+flashlight+torch http://www.amazon.co.uk/TrustFire-Protected-Rechargeable-Lithium-Batteries/dp/B00ABE7Y9A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384883719&sr=8-1&keywords=14500+rechargeable+battery http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380684060186?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 P.S... yes that is condensation on my scope glass, a real PITA this time of the year for me, I'm looking into the best prevention methods..!!
