wingnut
Hi Guys, can anyone help with a problem I am having with my home computer. I have asked at the local pc world store and they have never had any problems like this reported before. I have tried searching on t'internet and have not found any solution , so I was hoping that the font of all knowledge (Pigeon Watch) would have the answer. Every time the Television gets switched on while I am on the desktop, or laptop on you lose the internet connectivity, the message appears on the screen saying internet unavailable, run diagnostics, so you do this and it says that you are connected, however you can't access anything at all. I have just had to ask the misses to switch it all off so I can try and find a solution, its not just the desk top, its also a laptop, both of which connect (allegedly) wirelessly. Any help greatly appreciated. Andy

Lord Geordie
Have you tried a hard wired connection? Your TV may be giving off a wave on the same frequency as your modem?
aris
Disconnect the tv from the net, does the problem go away? All your devices should be set to 'DHCP' for IP address (might be called AUTO). Edited November 18, 2013 by aris
harrycatcat1
Another question is who gave you a passport to live in Derbyshire? How are you going on Andy? Apart from this problem. Regards Hcc
wingnut
"Well I will go to the foot of my stairs and spank the dog" Just tried one of the suggestions offered "is the tv connected to the phone line, if so disconnect, try replacing your dodah on the phone line." I assumed this item was the adsl filter, so I replaced this item with a spare one from the Mancave and hey presto every thing seems to be spot on, the tv is on, and the computer works perfectly. So much for Pc World, I will go back there tomorrow and tell them next time a customer has a problem too contact Pigeon Watch.
