Scope help please.

Hi guys,

I looking to get a new scope for my HMR and was after a little help as what to get for my budget.

I currently have a Simmons Pro Hunter 4 - 12 x 44 SF which is a nice scope but when using my NV at 10-12 mag all you can really see is eye shine.

on my Air rifle I use a MTC mamba 4 x 12 x 44 with a 30mm tube and this is better but only a little.

I don't have a lot to spend (£100 max) so though of getting something along the lines of 4-16 x 56mm

Can any one recommend a good scope ( new or second hand) for the money.

Thanks

Michael

Depends on what you,ve got to spend

only thing is with 56m obj your going to need some v high mounts , i suppose with the flatnes of the .17 you would,nt notice it , just a bit bulky.

i had an scope called moonlighter 56m on my rapid 17 a while back , it was great in low light ( better than the simmonds i had ), but **** when lamping too much surface area catching light .

if your using that NV same as your rapid then maybe ok. saying that i like the MTC's , for the money they are great .

i also use a 50 mil nikko mountmaster on my axsor and i think thats great and cheap too - so what do i know

Have a look at the Nikko Stirling Gameking 4-16x50 AO

Very good scope for the money & JS Ramsbottom are great suppliers

They also do an illuminated reticle version but both well under your £100 budget

I have had these on my Rimmy and FAC Air rifle for the last 5 years or so and have found them very good.

:good:

PS.. they are cheaper now than when I got mine
