Elby
I have been using my Mitsi Delica at the farm this year as the beaters wagon. It's currently on a sorn but wondered if I could make it an agri vehicle. There is 2 fields on the farm that we have to cross a road to get too so would be better if we could do that rather that park the other side & walk. PhilR
Our gun bus is an ex army lorry, the farm is split into three sections and we have to use lanes to get to and from each part. The lorry is now registered as an agricultural vehicle, I didn't do the actual process but I know a man who did and I'll ask him to post what needs to be done. HDAV
https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-exempt-from-car-tax Vehicles used just for agriculture, horticulture and forestryThis includes tractors, agricultural engines and light agricultural vehicles used off-road. It also includes ‘limited use’ vehicles used for short journeys (not more than 1.5 kilometres) on the public road between land that’s occupied by the same person. Maybe an issue with it being a car but i have seen VW caddy pickups on agri reg Edited December 5, 2013 by HDAV
Elby
The problem might be carrying passengers. I'll give them a shout tomorrow

I just changed the taxation class to "limited use" which is exempt from road tax, but limited to journeys of less that 1.5 kilometres between land that you occupy. It is also exempt from an MOT, just need to fill in form V112G. When I changed the taxation class, I had to apply in person at a DVLA office. It looks like you can do it by email now: https://emaildvla.direct.gov.uk/emaildvla/cegemail/dvla/en/vehicle_1_5.html

ColinF
Thanks Colin that's fantastic No problem. It was surprisingly easy to change. You still need a tax disc (at the moment anyway), but it doesn't cost anything. It costs us just over £100 a year for insurance with Adrian Flux.
