they all look like that its what you do to the insides

this one even lets your shooting buddy watch as well with no leads

Come on still want to see your add on Majyk

Looks like that king of innovation known as Marky610 has 'developed' this idea all on his own already...

Mind you, I'm sure your system would be much improved aesthetically with a couple of 4" aerials poking out of it Verminator.

wish I,d only spent a grand,,,, you can at least double that and more and I bet mick has done the same, its not so much the money its the hour after hour and day after day and month after

month working away on my own in my garage testing and experimenting, there seems to be not enough hours in the day,

then when you finally get something right it makes all the effort worthwhile,

I'm thinking I've done about £2k ish thus far. But I have two very useable units for that, the first (the OhmLaut 400 ) is considered my mk.4. The new Mk.5 one is over 40mm shorter, way lighter and drives the LED harder. Can't wait to test it with the X Searcher when it stops chucking it down but with my wee little thrower (which I'll post pics of at a later date) I'm getting 350 yards in the misty winter nights.

I'm already working on mk.6 and have plans for mk.7, I might do something really special with that one and build in a wireless transmitter. I think I'll be the first person in the world to do that!:good: (sorry Verminator... :ninja::whistling::oops: )

yes mate out of what I have spent I,ve got three kits one each of the daystates and one on the r10 now,

just spent the last week working with a new cam and , well to say the least I,m impressed and to top it off it sits on my head ???

that will get a few chins wagging lol,

the kit of yours certainly has been worth the effort mate and once totally completed will be worth the hours and money spent,

I,ve got boxes of torches , cameras, lenses the lot but I,m sure I,ll find a use for them

I wonder wear he pinches (Opps sorry) gets his Innovative Ideas from

probably from hours of tinkering in the shed ,

jealousy certainly gets no-one nowhere and being sarcastic certainly doesn,t work in my book,

give the guy some credit for the hard work and also sharing it with us

So, an update. I have just finished the final prototype, no more fettling to be done. Image clear and steady, power supply sorted, just finalising batteries from China. It's now shorter by an inch, lighter at 330 gms and uses a tiny light, push/pull zooming torch to pick out rabbit sized objects at 350 yards, eye shine and backstops still visible. I also reworked the ergonomics, everything is up by the eye which means that there's no fumbling for controls, simply put a hand to forehead and it's all there.

Put the modified X Searcher on ( the driver has been removed and it runs off my units LED driver/ dimmer system) and was looking at houses 770 yards away. Granted, that's a BIG object, but the houses were clear, you could see windows, doors, garden furniture silhouetted. I'm well chuffed. Pics and movie to follow once we get rid of the full moon, fingers crossed the weather will hold.

Sure, the unit will go from 10 yards plus, just either flood the zoom on the torch, dim the ir light or adjust the screen brightness and contrast settings or a combo of all three. Fastest way is just to pull the zoom all the way back so the ir light is on flood as the new driver doesn't dim from 0%, rather it goes from about 30% - 100%.
