muffin
Hi All just aquired BSA Airsporter open sights some questions for those with more knoweledge than I Is serial number behind woodwork ie do I remove stock. FalconFN
If it doesn't have scope rails it is a mk 1 from the 50s, usually the serial number is underneath just in front of the trigger guard but the alloy block chips easily and many have been repainted which obscures the number. Lovely rifles though.

muffin
Its GL number that makes it a MK6 I have to fix the front sight blade or has any one have a scope and mounts for it
kent
Mostly keep them on opens grooves aint up to much anyhow. Mk1 guns have self opening loading ports, quality of build diminished gradually over time but they can still do the business on opens. Tightening things up should be simple but pics and description together helps
muffin
front blade sight a little loose is it screwed in
lineshooter
you should be able to tighten it as there is a little screw next to the blade, you may need to slide the hood of to get to it, unless it`s one of these wwwairgunspares.com/store/product/4209/BSA-Generic-Frontsight-Unit-Part-No.-16-3194/, then I`m not sure how these are held on. FalconFN
I've almost finished restoring a mk 1 Airsporter and they are great to work on. Over engineered to last several lifetimes and pretty accurate.
