SNAKEBITE
I think the star of the show is Gordon! Or Gordon the Gourme Gnome as he has become affectionatly know in our house. Best bit was definatley NOT seeing Ray in those skimpy shorts of his, if he wore those in Brighton he wouldn't get out alive :look: I think we should start a whip round and buy him a bigger pair. pin
I sky+'ed it a' la Highlander, but I am concerned about these shorts now, I am not sure I want to see that :look:
Paul in North Lincs.
Ray Mears is the man...................I never miss an episode (..how sad is that........ :look: )
SNAKEBITE
Not sad at all Paul. I watch repeats of repeats on UK Gold, never tire of it. Plus you always spot something that you hadn't noticed before or had forgotten.
Axe
I thoroughly enjoyed the program yesterday, though I must admit I wasnt to keen on the eel. And Gordon the Gourme Gnome ought to put his teeth back in if he's to say anything else. :yp: Credit where its due though, he certainly didnt shy away at the taste testing. :look: Im not sure that Ray's notion of the grub making it to a top london restaurant is a good one though. pin
On the grub / top london eatery thing, look at what Heston has done with things like snail porridge at the fat duck - I wouldn't bet against it :look:
SNAKEBITE
Some of the top restaurants had squizzer on the menu but people were afraid to try it! (Was it Gordon Ramsey?) I think some of the things are put on the menu with the deliberate intent to shock, and thus attracting publicity. However old Ray has a point when he says he cannot understand why these plants are not eaten more often. The down side is that you can guarantee that there are going to be a hoard of people digging up the protected land at Cuckmere Haven this weekend looking for the sea kale :look:
