stirky
Which is the best scope mounted lamp on the market that would be good for foxing on my .223 ?. There is a good choice out there but not sure which to go for.
Axe
Thats got to be a Lightforce 170 with Deben Max Pro as runner up. http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/proddetai...ghtforceRMSM170
stirky
Just been looking at the deben tracer/max pro, that looks favourite so far, but still not sure.
Axe
The Deben Max is a great lamp that favour its not too big and is very light weight. With a the orange filter you'll get 100-150yards of usable light. But I think you'll find that most people would vote the Lightforce as being a better quality lamp and more powerful, which makes its better for longer distance fox shooting. stevethevanman
whould go for the 140 lightforce small but powerfull for those of us not foxing at 150+yards
JohnGalway
Lightforce 170 with a dimmer switch and a good battery without a doubt. I use a 140 on my .223 at the minute and it suffers when you're trying to see the body of the fox out past 150 yards! The connections between the lenghts of wiring and switch are really bad and you'll sooner or later need to get these soldered properly and maybe replace the switch but in my opinion the Lightforce 170 is perfectly suited to fox shooting. stevethevanman
thats why I said it was best for fox shooting under 150yds

You won't regret buying a 170 Stirky, they're just the job for foxing Go out and get one, you know you want to!
hawkeye
Stirky go for the 170 some people go for lesser lamps saying they only shoot foxes out to 150yds. But what good is seeing to shoot 150yds you need to see way past this to make sure you have a safe backstop with a C/F. The lightforce 170 gives you this, most other lamps ie :- Deben / Cluson dont i know as i have them as well.

skany
I would say for a gun mounted lamp the tracer max(with dimmer) is ideal! can be adjsuted to a very tight beam & throws the red filter a good 150yds! clips on the scope in a second so u can lamp by hand with gun on ur shoulder spot charlie, clip on lamp bang flop! I have a 170 wih red filter & there aint "much" in it! but its a bigger bulkyer unit! Andy
