FalconFN
I want to get a dedicated night vision rifle and would like to know if it is possible to mount a gen 1, or more likely a digital, NV monocular behind a holographic red dot type sight? The idea is to have them in line on off-set mounts so the dot is central in the viewfinder. I know that these are not the best NV and that I should save up and get a better unit but that just isn't an option at the moment. I currently use a Sony cam as an add-on and that gives more than enough range for my needs but I don't like the shooting position and it is easy to knock out of alignment. I don't want to build one as I have far too many projects on the go and I really want a viewfinder, not a screen. My concerns are that the scope won't pick up the red dot, it will not focus properly or the IR will be filtered out by the holographic screen - has anyone tried this and if so did it work? Thanks
al4x
Surely by the time you buy another rifle mod etc you will have spent photon money at least

That's what happens with a DEDICATED NIGHT VISION RIFLE - like wot you asked about. They are usable in daylight - just not so clear as the cheapest budget day-scope you could find. I took it that Al4x was suggesting that the cost of a new rifle and cheap NV would be more that fitting a Photon to my existing rifle, I could be wrong though. I'm happy with my day setup but want an affordable dedicated night setup and what I am thinking of could possibly be done for £120.
