Tollerman
Has any one had a prolblem with Hull high pheasant cartridges ? My AYA shoots fine with Three Crowns paper cartridges but the High pheasants ones have let me down on several occasions.Contacted Hull Cartridge Co. in November but matter still not resolved. njc110381
I'm not sure now I've read this. I did think that my 16g drilling was misfiring and needed attention, but as this is the only cartridge I have tried it could well be that they are causing the issue? Paul223
Are you getting well struck primers?
Tollerman
Yes.Have fired several boxes of Three Crowns Paper plus a box of Eley VIP.All well struck. No problem with the gun.Have used High pheasant in my 12 bore Beretta and they have worked fine.Just seems to be the 16 bore cartridges that are the problem. Paul223
16 gauge high pheasant in 26 gram 7's (woodcock snipe) and 28gram 6's (for pheasant is what I'm using with no problems What do the primer strikes look like on the miss fires, can you post some pictures of em
Tollerman
No longer have the misfires. At the time the primer strikes looked perfectly OK.Suspect mine were just a ' bad batch'.Have used the AYA on more than a dozen game shoots this season ,using other cartridges, without fault.Hull Cartridge Co. Collected the remains of the 250 High Pheasant cartridges and are currently inspecting them.
Ears
That's a coincidence. Early jan bloke came pheasant shooting with a 16 bore kept miss firing hull high pheasant. At lunch changed he had another make of cartridges from his car shot fine no miss fires at all. the hull cart primers were all well hit. need to take em back where you bought em. let the dealer have it out with hull.
