bakerboy
I am looking after a friends Browning Synergy, on the barrels it records two chamber lengths,(I presume they are the chamber lengths). Its states 12g 2 3/4 & 3". Am I reading it wrong or is there something I am missing .

bakerboy
Thanks for that. He is new to shooting and having read the manual there was nothing I could see to explain it. He will be using it for a duck shoot, and naturally Steel will be going through it, so 3" chambers are a must.
HDAV
Some (trap models) are 2 3/4 only iirc and not steel proof Fleur de llys are the key
figgy
Mine were 3" it's a browning thing to list all the cartridge sizes on the barrels. My SX3 has 2 3/4" then 3" then 3 1/2". Check what chokes are ok for steel, iirc cyl upto half were fine with the Cynergy titanium coated chokes. The newer chokes are steel upto 3/4" Figgy
fenboy
My Remington Versamax says 2 3/4" 3" or 3 1/2 " on the barrel , it just refers to cartridges that may be used rather than chamber length .

delburt0
My cynergy was born in 2010 and is proofed for steel, as I would think even the first cynergys as the crazy yanks love shooting steel, As for the chokes I wouldn't go above half personally but I'm sure a bit of digging will tell you the tightest choke recommended if using the standard diamond chokes Edited January 17, 2014 by delburt0
