Forend

Your gun looks different to mine so maybe a different model?

I bought mine from Philip at Attleborough a couple of weeks ago but saw one in Halesworth with a repaired forend on the same day so that's why I thought it was the one.

I can't think where else to look for the date, sorry.

Eric.

. If its stamped at .729 it will be fine . It is guns that were stamped at .719 that were the problem .Been a long day and I left my reading glasses at work so I misread your post . That's my excuse any way.

Sorry about that and apologies for any worries I may have caused . I have withdrawn my earlier post to avoid any further confusion .

As my old foreman used to say "we all make mistakes ,even me and I'm perfect ".

I suspect that this is not an 800 model. I think I am correct in saying the 800's had the scalloping on the lower front end of the action (the bit nearest to the forend), which yours does not. If you look at the picture posted by eredel, you will see the difference. I will not confuse the issue with the mainspring difference. It could be any of the later models 3700, 3750 or even an early 3800. All of these models had letters denoting their grade. S, SW, HSW. Because Miroku did not always put the model number on the action, it can be very hard to identify. However, your gun is the 'grade 1'. Maybe someone on here has an old Miroku catalogue and may be able to assist.
