thomasbeaton
Hi guys, I was out today and I was soaked through as was my rifle. Got me thinking I should strip down my sound mod to clean properly but don't actually no. It screws off at the bottom but am afraid incase I damage the insides. Does any one own one and how do you clean it? Cheers. T.

kent
these do not dis assemble, what you see is just the back bushing. Dry it air it ans put a squirt of WD40 in either end and jobs good. Even stainless corrodes some over time, especially with powder residues and intense heat

activeviii
depending on age of the PES will depend on it you can strip it. Older one you could take apart. newer one Julian sends over to Steve Bowers to weld closed due to a few people having then come apart. No need to do anything with them. just put somewhere warm to dry. from time to time i will stand mine in the ultrasonic cleaner with sea clean 2 in and leave for a cycle of two but there really is no need. I really cant under stand why you would want to spray oil into them, dont worry about rust, it will not happen unless your in salty environment. all your going to do is leave a oily residue in the mod for carbon to stick to. Bewsher500
when you look at the back how many knurled collars can you see? if one - it is non strippable, what you see is the plastic barrel bush if two - one will be metal and one plastic - metal one pulls centre tube out and can be "de carboned" I do this just to keep it all moving and free it up occasionally it is stainless so not really required
