yogi
Good afternoon all, I'm looking to join a Wildfowling club in or near Ipswich, Suffolk. The two I have come up with are the North Suffolk Wildfowlers and Colchester Wildfowlers. As I have said in my welcome post a few days ago I haven't been shooting that long (about 8 or 9 months) and what I'm looking for is a club that will be welcoming to a new shooter who may not know all of the ins and outs of Wildfowling. I have had a brief email chat with the NSW but nothing was really mentioned to the helping of a new shooter. (well that's how I read it). So I'm posting on here to hopefully find and talk to some members of each of the clubs so I can see which would be best for me i.e. travel, cost, Friendly members etc.. Many thanks Yogi
Barls2-9-12
Aldeburgh I think not sure about the membership requirements. I was a member of north Suffolk a long while back so can't really comment on what it is like now and where they still have shooting.

anser2
Though a Norfolk club Rockland WA have quite a bit of wildfowling ground along the Norfolk\Suffolk boundary as well as the chance to shoot from a boat on the Broad. A very friendly , forward thinking club.
Wildfowler
Hi yogi, I'm a member of colchester... It's a good club with some nice areas to visit. As for new members, they are a friendly club and offer accompanied visits for inexperienced fowlers. They also hold gun dog training sessions and trials which might help with your new companion! Have you ever been fowling before? It's not game shooting and certainly not everyone's cup if tea, but for a lot of us on here, it's the most addictive thing you will ever experience! (You've been warned!)
Grandalf
All of these are good and will look after you. Alde and Ore. Norfolk, Yarmouth. Rockland. North Suffolk. None of them are that far away from you. You are spoilt for choice.
yogi
That's great everyone, thanks for your help. Wildfower, I think you may have sold it to me with the dog training. No I haven't been wildfowling before but I'm keen to try all types of shooting and this is something I have had my eye on since getting my licence. Grandalf
Most fowling club's have dog training sections - and clays too.
Wildfowler
Most fowling club's have dog training sections - and clays too. Really? I'm a member of 4 clubs and Colchester is the only one that holds dog training sessions?! A couple have clay shoots but land to hold them on is so difficult to come by now! Which of the clubs you mention above hold either?
