ollie
Well folks it's been 2013 since I was out lamping due mainly to the awful weather & work but I managed to get a trip out on Thursday night. We went to our syndicate shoot because I know the farmer is starting lambing soon. No sign of anything until we got near the end when I crossed a fence and noticed a fox coming walking towards us about 300 yards away. We hadn't been calling so this fox was obviously hunting, we just stood quietly & let it come towards us, but the way it was walking I couldn't get a backstop. Anyway the wind was perfect but this fox wanted to try & wind us so it did a loop around us. Finally I got a backstop when it was about 70 yards away walking broadside. I squeezed & there was an almighty thump but the fox somehow started running into cover. I had a fair idea it wouldn't go far and we found it 10 yards into the cover. I don't know how it even moved, as the photo shows the good side, if I had turned it over it was quite a mess. The 55grain sako ballistic tips made some hole. ollie
It's a howa 1500 in .223. It has stainless barrel & is fitted with an ambidextrous thumb hole from highland outdoors. It is a tad heavy especially with the new large bipod, but I love it.
bumpy22
great looking rifle. I made a similar stock for my t3 out of a true left hander of ebay. saved me a few quid on buying a right handed one.
