hello I have been using 65mm carts in my pump Mossberg 20g but I am having some problems cycling the cartridge kind of gets lodged before entering the breech, does anyone else have this problem with their pump ? would using 70mm cars make any difference ? thanks for any help

I have had this problem when cycling the gun whilst it is pointed near vertical, the cartridge seems to tip over backwards and the crimp end gets jammed against the top of the barrel. It never does it with 70mm carts. Mine is a 12g.

I get the same thing happen if I use 65/68mm cartridges in my 835 (3.5inch chambered) but not come across this with my 500's (all 3inch chambered) it is due to the tang on the shell lifter being a little short for the slightly shorter shells causing them to tumble rather than lift, I have seen this remedied on other forums to shoot 2.25/2inch shells by having the tang extended this does not affect the use of other shells the gun is chambered for.
