hoggysreels
I might have the chance of picking up a sbs ... it has slight play in the hinge pin .. is this something that can be sorted reasonably easily or is it an expensive problem ... lm trying to cost the gun in my head in a good state, play free ... its a 20 bore sbs
deershooter
The hook will need welding and the gun rejointing about £140-£180 +vat in the trade Wisemans in Birmingham can sort you out It won't be worth doing on a really cheap gun Deershooter
kent
Often you can simply turn the pin 180 degrees or so for the gun to tighten and re-fit to the action. How loose is though? and how much is it costing now? How much might it potentially be worth fixed?
Gunman
What's the gun .Is it a knock in pin or a screw pin , Needs to be looked at before it can be properly costed as there is more than one way to tighten or rejoint a gun should that be the case. hoggysreels
He isn't sure what the make is, he's only had it 4 years ... he is a mate of mine. and him telling me that, in no way surprised me. He reckons its something 'Hawk" .. its a 20 bore sbs. He told me it has nice engraving to the mechanism. A good while back l'd have seen it, but took little notice at the time ... but for some reason lm thinking it has play in the pivot ... why, lm not sure ... like he said, its best l look ... was just curious as to roughly how much it might cost to have repaired ... cheers for the help
