casts_by_fly
Hi guys, I want to get a set of traditional game clothes for next season and that i could also wear back in the US when i move back. I like the look of a traditional tweed pattern, but i am fairly flexible on the final one. More important to me is the usability. I am not easy on my clothes. I typically wear heavy oil cloth or carharts as I go through heavy briars, am not shy about crossing fences or trees, etc. I also want some semblance of water proofing. Gore-tex would be great, but other waterproof. I am considering breeks, both patterned and moleskin. I would consider long pants too. I will want a waistcoat matching the jacket. Ideally the jacket would have some decent pockets, ideally cartridge pockets with sewn in elastic loops, and a game pocket. The schoffel ptarmigan looks like it might fit the bill, though it is a bit pricey. Any others i should look at? My goal is to look for the next couple months at what is possible and pick something up either on sale or later in the summer. Thanks, Rick

rogcal
Try the Yorkshire Trading Company. They have a good line in tweed jackets, waistcoats and trousers (plus fours) in their stores but if you look at their website under Rydale Clothing you won't find any which means you have no alternative other than drop into your nearest store. They have two in East Yorks. Brid and Driffield.
pocko3000
A friend of mine recently got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/BREATHABLE-HUNTING-SHOOTING-WATERPROOF-BRANDED/dp/B0085VOK6G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1395431631&sr=8-2&keywords=tweed+jacket TBH its pretty decent and was thinking of getting one myself, 131 reviews all seem to say its good too and think they do matching cap, trousers and waistcoat. And for £70 if it gets damaged or dirty you don't mind so much.
timd999
Got one of the jackets mentioned by pocko last year. Really hard wearing, very warm (fabric is mainly wool mix) and fully waterproof. Absolutely no complaints for the money
Beardo
i have the Musto technical tweed (goretext lined and teflon coated tweed) suit, and it's fantastic - i'd highly recommend. Stealth Stalker went out and bought a set after the first season of mine.
