ditchman
oiling up an auto is not a good idea.....i dust a little graphite powder into the action ..thats all.......if you oil it up it will attract dust and turn it into a grinding paste....maybe be put a couple of drops of light sewing machine oil into the trigger mechanism thats all...... Westley
I would not use grease inside the action of an auto. If it is gas operated, flakes of unburned powder will get blown back into the action, mix with the grease and make a real sticky paste. I use Lucas red gun oil which was devised by the Americans for use on machine guns and therefore works at high temps. I buy it off fleabay but have now sourced it locally. A small bottle lasts for around 6 years using it on all of my multi chokes and just the slides on my Auto's. My local stockist is :- C. Bennis Supplies & Services, 99, Southbank Road, Southport, Pr8 6QL. Tel. 01704 544711. 2 X 2fl.ozs. bottles £7.99 inc. P & P . P.S. My auto's have had 1000's of rounds through them without problems. Just on the last of my current oil bottle after around 6 years. Edited April 2, 2014 by Westley
