Is it not true that if you want to go to Australia to live doesn't their entry rouling say something like you need to prove that you either have a job to go to or adequate means of supporting yourself for a set period of time first. If this is right why could the UK not enforce a similar policy which would stop those who want to come to the UK just so that they can take advantage of the "system" and still allow those that were willing to work for their living - Surely that would not be classed as racist and would be a "responsible" route to take!

Australia have a policy that if you want to take out of 'the system' you have to first pay into 'the system'. They also have an (unwritten) policy of FIFO - Fit In or **** Off.

That sounds like a couple of pretty good policies to have - Especially the latter (Unwritten) policy that you mention!

I know quite a few people who have emigrated to Oz - they are mightly impressed by the countries ability to assimilate people into becoming 'Australians' while still keeping their cultural identity and traditions.
