Anonymouslemming
Hi all, I collected my supernova today, and I have a question about the barrel fit. The manual states that the barrel retaining cap shoud be screwed onto the magazine tube, turning fully to lock the barrel onto the receiver. When my retaining cap is screwed all the way down, there is about 1mm of play between the barrel and the cap. Does anyone have any idea what I may have missed here or how I rectify this ? Thanks,
Breastman
By 'play' do you mean actual movement or just a gap? As there's a big detent on the barrel ring (which goes over the magazine tube which the end cap screws onto to give the friction so it doesn't unscrew itself. I can't remember off hand if mine had a gap or not. If there is movement aswell as the gap between the cap and the barrel ring if you move it forward you'll see a gap appear where the barrel mates with the receiver. There should be no movement of the barrel once the end cap is screwed on properly. If you've definitely screwed the cap on as tight as it will go (it makes a rasping noise as it meets the detent on the barrel ring, and theres any movement, you should take it back to where you got it from
Anonymouslemming
There's definitely movement. The cap doesn't make a rasping sound, and with the bolt slightly open, I can move the barrel. Sadly, it came from a long way away, so I'll have to speak to the RFD who handled the transfer and see if he's prepared to look at it. Breastman
This video shows the end cap close up at 2:58 EDIT actually the screen still shows it! And this one shows you how to dissassemble it, note the rasping noise as he unscrews the end cap at 0:53 and then puts it back on at 8:14 If yours isn't making that noise it must mean the detent is missing Edited April 16, 2014 by Breastman

Anonymouslemming
Definitely looks like a problem with tube length. The detent is there, but the barrel cap does not screw down far enough. It looks like the tube is either too long or not screwed in far enough. Barrel mated to receiver - http://imgur.com/ctL9Yzl,tpIxvlm,X5dqyEY,Skf6fEu,dwFuCAK#2 - you can see the bit there. I'll have to see how to get this fixed without going all the way back to the original seller. Hopefully a local Benelli dealer can help as a warranty issue. Breastman
Looks like either the magazine tube isn't fully screwed into the receiver or thats the wrong end cap, weird. Hope you get sorted

Hope you get sorted It's now sorted. There was too much metal on one end of the tube. There is now less. The cap now sits snuggly against the barrel ring and there is no play. mudpatten
Have you checked to make sure that the mag tube has actually been crimped to reduce the capacity to two, assuming your`s is a 2+1 model, rather than a larger mag capacity. One reason for the mag tube being too long is that it has not been shortened to the correct length by crimping.

The follower stops at the crimp and it'll only take 2 shells.
