heyup.

jus bought a gun off one of me mates its a falcon fn19 with a 3-9-40 scope + silencer + bag for a price of 130 quid. which in my opinion is very cheap. the gun is in quite good condition with only a few little scratches on the stock. however i would like to make the stock look nicer and allso the "blue " steel on the gun as this looks a little greasy. ive heard of a process of linseed oil and blueing? whats all that about?

also my mate said he can upgrade the gun to 25 lb per foot. (i have a fac) he said he will put new seals in it which will be able to cope with the extra power. is this worth gettin done?

it will cost me 50 quid. but for double the power is it worth it???

Do you own a FAC air rifle? I know you said you have a FAC but wondered whether you had an air rifle on your ticket?

Does your mate know what he is doing? Will he be able to get the bits to it if hasn't got an FAC himself. I wouldn't have thought the upgrade parts are easily accesible to non FAC holders.

Not sure of the shot capacity but take that into consideration, also is it a .177? Is so then I wouldn't bother.

To be honest it would have such a detrimental effect of Shot count it wouldn't be worth it

You got a half decent price too thats quite cheap for a Falcon.

The Wood is a doddle but the blueing can be a real pain in the *** I found a Lathe handy for Blueing as i could turn the job without getting greasy finger prints all over the clean steel :)

I find the Birchwood Casey Gun blue is fine but get the degreaser too

You will NEVER get a job to compare to a Factory finish though :P
