malantone
why didn`t you gut them as you killed them, I wouldn`t be keen on them they will stink to high heaven when thawed and opened up.
Scully
Our dealer ( at the other end of the country) pays us £1.50 for each head shot rabbit, guts out. As Malantone has said, you'll be lucky to find someone to take frozen whole rabbits, and for the reason he's given, but I may be wrong. Novice
There's an advert in this week's shooting times. They're wanting steel shot pigeons and head shot/feretted rabbits. Think they were paying £1 per frozen rabbit, collected anywhere in the country. I daresay they're wanting them to feed Bop. Novice
ride4fun
i am quite aware of this, i shoot well over 2000 rabbits a year and have a butcher who i sell them all too. however i had a few people who had them for snakes, but only took ferreted ones and would not have shot ones. basically last ferreting season a man who has them for snakes told me to fill the freezer and he would come and get them all in one hit and give me £2 a rabbit guts in fur on. which i did, and he had the lot. he was meant to do the same again this year but has bailed, leaving me with a freezer of rabbits which are no good for human consumption. however i was hoping someone on here might be interested, to feed snakes, bait traps, know a local zoo keeper or something to stop them from going to waste any helpful replies will be greatly appreciated thanks ant
JKD
Hi Ant, I give my spare rabbits to an animal/BOP centre. No money changes hands as the place needs as much help as it can get. It's not far from you and I'm sure they'll be very glad to take some off your hands. They take them exactly as your frozen ones, whole with guts in. If you're interested in doing this, PM me and I'll give you more details Cheers Chris
