Great video and some cracking shooting there - Well done!

I don't see anything wrong with using a Hatsan, if it does the job for you, (which the video shows that it does) then why worry about all of this "Gun Snobbery" - If I had a Hatsan

I would not hesitate in using it (Especially as an out and out knock about field work horse) regardless of what others might think!

As a sdie note: I have just been out yesterday and bought a load of NSI.UNO 70mm 28g 5 shot 12 bore cartridges (In orange coloured boxes) as they were at a very reasonable price (£4.70 per box - I only wanted a few boxes to try before thinking about buying a case or two of them) I took some out yesterday evening and even though the "black uns" didn't really want to play ball what did come over dropped well and seemed to be very hard hit using these cartridges through a half and three quarter choke in my Laurone O/U. Would these be the same brand and size cartridges that you were using, if so then I am very impressed, especially with the price of the cartridges compared to something like "Black Gold" (Which is often my first choice of cartridge when I'm feeling flush) mate?

Some nice shooting, Stevo. I'm surprised you thought that a 3/4 wouldn't do the job. I'd have thought that with the fairly large shot size you were using, that combination would be good for 50+ yards.

Have you tried the Prima 7.5 yet? They bring down the crows very well.

Thanks motty .

To be honest mate I have thought about the use of different chokes for yrs . I have shot with people that pull some fantastic shots out to 50 yrds ... sometimes 50 plus . So with that in mind I know deep down that a lesser choke is more than enough but .....

I just seem to be more comfortable with a tight choke even though I know its all in my head . The only thing I can put it down to is when I first started out . Like most I couldn't afford to spend a great deal of money on my shotguns . So I spent a good few yrs shooting single barrel baikals which all come as standard with a horrendously tight choke . I spose I just got used to it .

Anyway . I haven't tried the 7.5 yet I only get the 6s by chance . That said im really impressed with them . I have about 550 left but when there gone I intend to get some more thats for sure . So I might try the 7.5 . Also want to try the pigeon power .

Mighty fine shooting fella i was going to get a hatsan for a knock about gun but like most others was put off them but after seeing yours perform i might have to treat myself

Thanks for sharing the video

Thank you for saying so . With regards to the hatsan . When I bought mine it was through a recommendation by a good friend . And I was not aware of all of the bad press regarding earlier models . I just bought it on fit, faith, and value for money as far as rough guns go . And I have to say its a corker . Dont get me wrong I have a Beretta A400 . And there is NO comparison what's so ever . But with over a grand in price difference why would there be .

Its a bit like my cars . We have a nice car that the missus uses for work and when we go out . Its great , however I love to jump in the work van and have a good bomb about . Thats the Hatsan in a nutshell .its the trusty old van of shotguns haha . Just my opinion of course .
