can anyone recommend a 410 subsonic load

Recommended Posts

Im thinking about getting a fully moderated 410 and wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction for subsonic recipes, also am i right in thinking that under 1100 fps and 700psi is a subsonic load or is that rubbish, cheers IG

think eley 18g subs only option can think of..fyi my 410s are not moderated and these shells not v quiet but do work.......other shells are actually quieter...Lyevale 14g and the eley 14 g trap 7.5 v good.

Thanks mate was thinking re-loading recipes, probably didn't make that clear

Forget the pressure limitation. Most decent loads would be safe

thanks cookoff, I was thinking smaller charge and load would equal lower pressure which in turn would equal subsonic and less bang, ie looking at BP advantages manual a 2" case, 10grn alliant 410 and 7/16 shot wt = 7200psi and 820 fps I'm guessing that would be a subsonic load (im also guessing it wouldn't be very effective) what do you think?

1,

ask for decent recipes for specific loads. there are awsome shells out there. did you know that the .410 has the biggest pressure rating (service pressure). it needs pressure to pop all the powder in the chamber to produce gas to push the shot. if you start choking the reactions with reduced pressure / poor loads, you start to get dirty loads poor speeds / variable speeds, and blockages.

whereas a decent "any" load is designed to pop, be clean and cheap. (no wastage of powder flakes)

2,

ask for a decent recipe, and you`ll probbly be given a recipe everyone uses because its great.

3, bad recipes usually have duff speed, duff pressure and duff performance.
