Afastr
Just after a bit of advice on what needs to be filled out when buying or receiving a gun from a private seller. My interpretation of the guidelines on the shotgun certificate is that the seller fills out the details on the buyers certificate and signs it, nothing is written on the sellers certificate and then both send off forms to respective police forces to inform them of the transfer. Is there any requirement for the buyer to write anything on the sellers certificate or for the seller to remove / put a line through guns that have been transferred off his certificate? robbiep
You are correct reagrds the seller filling in the buyers SGC, and both parties sending off the forms Regards the sellers SGC : nothing needs to be filled in at all - when I've sold a gun in the past, I just put a margin note with date and 'sold' on it.
