Tinribz Posted June 5, 2014 Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 Got out this afternoon on sum peas i had 30 off there a couple of weeks ago but in wet conditions today it woz bright n breezy had seen a good few birds getting on there so set up with the wind of my back before i could take a bite of a sandwich birds strate in i had 3 before i could finish it things looked good i had 9 in an hour but they just stoped coming in and started going round the side of my pattern took the magnet in nothing put it back out an hour later but now it woz in the shade bang birds poured in i went from 20 to 52 in the last 3 hours i couldnt get the cartridges in fast enough i had asked on here the other week about magnet paint as mine woz shiny someone told me to scotch the arms but folishly i didnt check to see if they where still shiny lesson lernt today check you gear before rushing out shootingbut still well happy with a new pb of 52 lost a good few birds in the wood behind me fired 143 cartridges so not bad im still learning Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would suggest that being in the shade the birds on the whirly were more visible due to the contrast between the light grey of the birds and the background. This is one thing that I noticed on bank holiday Monday, the pigeons on my whirling were much more visible from a distance during dull periods and less so in bright sunshine.
