Harnser
Been watching a couple of fields of laid barley on one of the farms . The barley has just turned to the milky stage and a few birds having a go . Set up at about mid-day and shot through to 4pm . managed to pick up 21 and left about another 5 on the field ,didnt want to tramp through the standing crop . Whilst shooting this field I was watching the other field and the birds started to use this other field . will have ago on the other field tomorrow . Incidently my biggest bag for some time . lakeside1000
Well done, I've been waiting for them to start on the barley, but they seem preoccupied with the young sugar beet plants, they have stripped half a field on the edge of the farm, but I find it difficult to get them to come to decoys, just small numbers always on the move. had six last week and another five yesterday, roll on the harvest, should get some larger flocks on the stubble. Whitebridges
There seems to be more laid barley this year than for many a year which isn't that surprising given the winds and rain we've had. Good on yer Mick for getting a few.
