I'm off to the Scone Game Fair in a couple of weeks and I have a Buck head I'd like looked at to see if it's worth scoring properly but according to the BASC website here

http://basc.org.uk/events/

You're not going to be there, which I find hard to believe lol.

Here's the beast as shot on Saturday evening (my first buck!! 😄)

U better check the exact timescale but sure head meant to be left 90 or 120 days for drying time before getting measured.

Also double check this but think Basc is a different (but similar) measuring system to the CIC which is the long standing 1.

Better check both the above as i'm not into trophies but i think i'm right (think moy game fair does head measuring?)

Nice buck thou (Wot sort of body weight was it? almost looks small body or possibly just a camera trick compared to its head)

I'm not too fussed about scoring it "properly" I was just wanting a word with someone well versed in the system to whether it's worth scoring once it's dried out properly etc. Without head and feet (hooves lol) it was about 30lbs. I think it may be a bit of a camera angle trick lol.

Thanks,

Paddy

Once it is cleaned weigh it and let me know the length and span. You knock some weight off to allow for the 90 days drying time. From there you get a good idea if it will make a medal. I think the guys from. CIC are at the game fair for measuring they might give you an area too. After the drying time even if you put it in for measuring it costs nothing if it is not a medal se here http://www.cictrophy.com/PRICELIST.html good luck think it might make bronze although as I said in your over thread could be deceiving as if only 30lb laddered it's quite small. I had one last week at 20.5kg (45lb) but he had a small head. Will stick a photo up tomorrow if I remember.
