sadly today I called in at one of my perms and sadly the landowner had to have his loyal companion of 15years put to sleep this morning,

Bee(English Springer) was a fantastic working dog until 4years ago when he retired her, she had a fantastic temperament and loved to retrieve anything be it

pigeons,rabbits ,duck,geese ,you name it .

her time came when she collapsed walking around the lake this morning and would not get up so off she went to the vet and my shooting buddie was advised to put her to sleep because he did not think she would survive going through an operation ,

it turned out she had a womb infection and was really to old to survive the opp,

I have had a lump in my throat all day and shed a tear as I was very close to her , I would walk her through the fields flushing pheasant,s out and woodcock

even in her latter retired days she was always very active,

She loved the fishery so her owner paul has decided to bury her there and surround it with a small garden of flowers,

I feel totally gutted as the place wont be the same without her,

Bee,,,you will be sadly missed

RIP little one and have fun in Heaven, goodnight god bless

I lost my girl a year or so ago to something similar sounding. Could I be as rude to ask if she's been bred out of?

Reason being mine was not spayed nor has she bred and wondered if that makes them more susceptible.

Sad news. But she didn't suffer long

hi mate,,No she never had pups which was one regret that paul has, the vet did say this was a common problem with the dogs for them getting womb infections
