Wildfowler12
A friend of one put me on to these a couple of weeks ago... He's replaced all springs / tubes / letterbox / mesh on his bins and swapped them for these, stainless steel cutlery drainers @ £2 each. He said they where spot on last season! I've knocked a few up this week and tested them in the garden on the chickens. They seem to do the job! Worth a punt at £2 each.
figgy
Might not clog as much as springs and makes it harder for anything without a beak to get a free feed. Wildfowler if you cut a slight taper to the inside top of your feeder legs and re watch it will give them more stability by widening the radius of the feet. shoot and be safe
They are similar to what we use and can't fault them. The feed can run a bit through them but we waste less as the smaller birds eat what spills. At £2 a pop well worth it.

graiglearn
can you please tell me where you get the stainless for that price Cheers Bob
Arley
Bought some from the 99p shop. We have tried a dozen with our ex layers. We shortened the legs on the hoppers so the birds could reach the sides, so far so good.

lordripon
they look exactly like "wright feeders" I've used some last season , although I am not sure if the pheasants use them very much as they seemed to use less than half the food compared to my spring feeders or letter boxes, but they don't drop any feed and are badger proof so hardly any wastage. I will be trying them in the release pens soon so I can monitor them closer. oh and they sound a bargain as wright feeders are £4.50-£5.00 each !!!!! I am off to wilkos tomorrow see what I can find ! Alycidon
They do look interesting and certainly worth a trial. I recon I loose 5 or 6 tonnes a year to badgers, squirrels and increasingly pigeons who have sussed how to use springs. Got a few feeders to refurb this time so ideal. Charlie R
Apologies for might seem a daft question but will these work with duck and if so at what height would you set these up off the deck?
malantone
cant see a duck getting food out of those, they can with a spring as they give up grain when moved.
Charlie R
I can see what you mean pointed beak vs spoon shaped. Many thanks
